De'Via Art Work

Deaf art, is Deaf View / Image Art = De’VIA (must be spelled as Cap D, lower e ‘ Caps VIA)

De’VIA was first established in 1989, with a manifesto signed by nine Deaf artists.

De’VIA represents Deaf artists and their perceptions are based on Deaf experiences.

Deaf experiences can include Deaf metaphors and Deaf perspectives.

The manifesto discusses elements, imagery, and symbols.

De'VIA is created when the artist intends to express their Deaf experience through visual art.  De'VIA may also be created by deafened (late deafened) or hearing artists, if the intention is to create work that is born of their Deaf experience (a possible example would be a hearing child of Deaf parents)

Here are the De'Via Artwork that I made that shows what I've experience being a De'Via Artist.
